My disciplinary research focuses on the development and evolution of flowering in legumes. I also do education research on how students learn plant genomics and am involved in a number of synthesis studies on undergraduate education.
On behalf of the RtP working group, I've been in discussions with Susan Musante (AIBS) about compiling a list (with links, brief descriptions) of current initiatives surrounding V & C -- both as they relate to Life Sciences in particular and to the broader STEM undergraduate education reform movement. Would you be willing to work with her on such a list? I think it would be a helpful resource.
She had considered setting it up initially as a Google doc so that people could add to the initial list when they didn't see an initiative on the list that should be.
PULSE then might sometimes serve as a clearing house where biolgists could go to learn about, and tap into, existing programs. Would yo be willing to help with that?
If you are an undergraduate life science educator, department chair, or administrator, we invite you to join PULSE and make your department a model of Vision and Change in undergraduate life science education!
