What is your main area of focus or research?
I am currently studying cave crustaceans in Dr. Protas's lab at Dominican University of California. Our research goals are to find the genetic markers responsible for loss of eyes and pigment in crustaceans from the Krska and Kosswigi caves and then compare the genetic markers and see if they are the same or different than the genetic markers (previously found by other Dominican University students) of crustaceans from the Zrska and Planina caves. These four caves are all Slovenian caves.
