concerning the public group of V&Case - ambassadors - spreading the pulse: I think we need to make that public ASAP, and to include something like:
The “Spreading the Pulse” working group is focused on coming up with a toolkit that PULSE ambassadors (visitation teams) can take to biology and life science departments that that will encourage them to adopt the principles and recommendations of the “Vision and Change” report. The toolkit will include resources, references, strategic planning templates, and other items.
We are interested in recruiting ambassadors from the PULSE community to serve as regional ambassadors. We will develop a set of training guidelines so that all ambassadors will be on the same page.
Why do we think this is important? In addition to faculty development workshops, we believe that face-to-face PULSE evangelism can be an effective means to spread recognition of the importance of V&C imple3mentation to the future of life science education and indeed to the future of our modern society.
I left it in the comment section of David's site. However, I do not think that is a good place because (if I understand it correctly!!) his site can be accessed by any member of the PULSE community. I think we should have one just for our working group, which is what I think yours is (i.e., by invitation only). Joann
If you are an undergraduate life science educator, department chair, or administrator, we invite you to join PULSE and make your department a model of Vision and Change in undergraduate life science education!
