Perhaps the best use of these groups might be to move away from the comments threads, which can get tangled, and start focused Discussions using the +Discussion hot text. For example, I sense a need for a discussion on effective practices and ideas of research-based labs that can be implemented at a variety of institutions. Why don't we start that discussion here. This could also be a place to post references to publications that describe inquiry and research-based labs. We could add effective practice discussions based on lab topics (cell bio, bioinformatics, ecology, etc.). Another good, separate discussion topic might be on approaches to garner institutional resources to support a research-based laboratory curriculum.
